At Private Peppers, we believe no Marine should feel alone during life’s most challenging and transformative moments. Recruit training is demanding, testing strength, resilience, and determination.
Our Letter Writing Campaign provides encouragement and connection to recruits who may not have consistent support from family or loved ones. Through simple handwritten letters, our community can uplift spirits, boost morale, and remind future Marines that people believe in them every step of the way.
Each letter is a reminder that their hard work matters, their sacrifices are seen, and their commitment to serve is appreciated.
By participating, volunteers help ensure every Marine feels supported, valued, and never forgotten. Together, we can make a lasting impact, one letter at a time.

Letter Writing Guidelines
Writing Your Letter
Step 1 - Write an encouraging letter. Simple words of kindness, motivation, and support can make a meaningful impact.
Step 2 - Once completed, mail your letter to: Private Peppers, 28 Hopper Ridge Road, Bluffton, SC 29909
Step 3 - Spread the Word. Invite friends, family, schools, churches, and local businesses to participate and help us support even more recruits. Letters are welcome year round as recruit training is ongoing.
Step 4 - Stay Connected. Follow Private Peppers on social media for updates, future campaigns, and new opportunities to support Marines and service members.
For Educators
For educators interested in bringing this initiative into the classroom, we offer a Letter Writing Classroom Packet to help guide students through the process. While designed for elementary-aged students, it can easily be adapted for older grade levels. The letters we receive from students are uplifting, often bring smiles and laughter, and are deeply appreciated by recruits during training.
